Next December or January the Spanish Government will provide a draft bill on gambling and Internet gambling to the Autonomous Communities Councils. Although some companies have been operating in Spain for quite a long time, presently there is no legislation on this respect. The draft bill was presented at the Sixth Congress of the Game of Castile and Leon, which was held in Avila, by the General Technical Secretariat of the Ministry of Interior, María de los Angeles Gonzalez Garcia. Gonzalez explained that the bill will mainly include the regulation on advertising and promotion of the gambling industry, in order to respect and protect consumers and minors. Some autonomous regions have already analysed how to regulate online gambling. For instance, the Minister of Interior and Justice of Castilla y Leon, Alfonso Fernandez Mañueco, declared a forthcoming regulation for standard procedures for tickets raffle via phone, TV or Internet. This rule will join the Financial Measures Act 2010 that Castilla is currently developing.
